Experimentation is the backbone of creativity.  When I felt I had some mastery over the craft aspect of painting in several different media, the question ‘what else can be done?’ appeared.  I began seeking bridges across media, combining oil pastel with gouache, watercolor with embroidery,  egg tempera with acrylic,  and so on.  Being willing to explore and fail repeatedly, never knowing what is going to appear, engenders great artistic curiosity and energy.
